Whether you're a new or former NAU student, your first step toward taking undergraduate classes, is to complete an Application for Undergraduate Admission. You'll find forms online or you can request to have one mailed to you. Include the $25 application fee when you return or submit your forms. You are considered a former NAU student if you have graduated or have not attended at least one of the last three terms (not including summer or winter terms).

Send official transcripts of all your college work to undergraduate admissions if:

  • you plan to take 7 or more units during the fall term
  • you will accumulate more than 15 units at NAU
  • you plan to apply credit toward an NAU degree

If you plan to enroll in undergraduate education classes you must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program prior to the first day of class. Applications are available by calling 800-426-8315 or on the web.

Once your application materials have been evaluated you'll receive notification of your admission status by mail. Then you can enroll in class! Or you can send both your application and enrollment forms at the same time. Return them to your local NAU campus or to NAU Distance Learning, PO Box 4117, Flagstaff, AZ 86011-4117.

Generally, you will want to enroll in classes as soon as you've been admitted. However, if circumstances require that you delay your enrollment after admission, you will need to reapply to NAU. Likewise, if you begin taking classes and then take a break for three or more consecutive terms you will need to reapply. Contact your advisor for help with reapplication and readmission.
