FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT TUTORING
How can a tutor help me "on-line"?
You can engage in instant text chat, voice chat (if you have a microphone and speakers connected to your computer),
use a virtual white board and application sharing to communicate with a tutor.
What classes are there tutors available for?
We are continually expanding our services and the subjects we offer. Please check the "Current Schedule" for courses
offered and times.
How much does AZTutor tutoring cost?
AZTutor is a free service available to all registered students at The University of Arizona, Northern Arizona
University and Arizona State University.
What software/hardware will I need to access a tutor?
You will need to have internet access, NetMeeting 3.01, speakers and a microphone (if you intend to use voice chat)
to use AZLink. You can get tutored even if you do not have any audio devices by using instant text based chat and
the whiteboard.
How long will it take me to get registered?
When you register, we will check our database to make sure you are a registered student. This should take a few
seconds.
Do I have to agree to the terms and conditions every time I use AZTutor?
No, you will only be presented with the terms and conditions page on your first login. After you agree to the
terms and conditions of use, on subsequent logins you will be directed straight to the AZTutor homepage.
Why does the website take so long to load?
When you sign in to AZTutor, we have to check our database to ensure that you are a current registered student
attending one of the state universities of Arizona (UofA, ASU and NAU). Then when you click on a subject
link to engage in a tutoring session, we run scripts to start NetMeeting on your computer. We are currently
working on optimizing the system for faster response times. We appreciate your patience while we
improve our services for you.
