Troubleshooting a problem on your computer can be a frustrating process. The Academic Computing Help Desk can help make this experience less frustrating. Before you call them here are a few things you can do to make life easier for you and the person manning the Help Desk:
- Know your user name.
- Have your computer turned on!
- Know what operating system your computer uses; i.e., Mac OS, Windows 98, etc.
- Be ready to describe the specific problem. Explain any error messages you have read, what software has the problem, and any other information to best describe the problem.
- Understand that NAU supports only specific software and operating systems. If you are having a problem with an unsupported software, the Academic Computing Help Desk may not be able to help you.
