Next, you will
have two options:
Non-degree seeking: Non-degree seeking students are typically
individuals wishing to study part-time and/or for personal enrichment and
are welcome at NAU. Only the admission application and $25 application fee
are required. Students admitted part-time may enroll in six (6) credit hours or less,
and may be limited in the course selection based on prerequisite requirements. Students
are also advised that the university may not accept more than 15 credit hours earned while
enrolled in this status. Students who attend part-time in non-degree seeking status are
reminded that financial aid is not available.
Degree Seeking: If you are applying as a degree-seeking student, you may need to
submit a separate application to the college or department sponsoring your
degree program. Check the NAU website to find information for your major or college. This is usually
only applicable to graduate programs, but there are a few undergraduate
programs that have a separate application, like Health Science. You can check undergraduate application requirements on the Distance Learning webpages under Program Information, How to Apply. To apply as a degree-seeking student, you will also need to pay the application fee ($25 for undergraduates and $50 for graduate students) and submit transcripts. You may also need to submit test scores, like the SAT or GRE, depending upon entrance requirements.
