Computer Requirements
You may have problems if you are accessing some NAU sites through a firewall or a proxy. This is common when accessing NAU sites from computers at school districts or governmental offices. Check with your network administrator.
NAU supports the following operating systems (OS): Macintosh 8.1 and above or Windows 98 and above.
Web Based Minimum Configuration:
Intel Pentium PC or better, or Macintosh PowerPC or better.
Modem (14.4 minimum; higher speed recommended) or other connection to the Internet. Sound capabilities (i.e.: a sound card & speakers).
Monitor capable of displaying at least 256 colors.
Mouse and Keyboard.
Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer.
For best results, make sure Java and JavaScript are enabled in your browser preferences.
Webcast Courses Minimum Configuration:
Intel Pentium PC or Macintosh PowerPC or better.
28.8 modem and internet connection.
Audio card with speakers.
Windows 98/NT/2000/XP operating system for PC's or System 8.1 or higher operating system for Macintosh.
64 Mb RAM. 1 Gb free space on hard disk.
Latest version of Netscape or MS Internet Explorer.
Monitor capable of displaying 256 colors or better.
If you do not have a computer, NAU has several Distance Learning Services computer labs across the state.
