Application Procedures
New Students
To attend Winter and Summer classes you must be admitted to NAU. You can seek to be admitted as a degree-seeking student or as a non-degree seeking student. Below are the differences between the two statuses:
Degree Seeking students must indicate they are pursuing a degree on their application for admission. This requires the submission of official transcripts from other institutions. Degree-seeking students may be eligible for financial aid, can take a full class load, and are eligible to enroll early based on their enrollment appointment for upcoming terms.
Non-Degree students can be admitted without official transcripts from other institutions and with an abbreviated application. Non-degree undergraduate students are restricted to enrollment in six units. All non-degree seeking students are ineligible for financial aid, and are able to enroll for upcoming terms after degree-seeking students have had the opportunity to enroll.
