Enrolling Online
To enroll online you will access the NAU
student administration system, which uses PeopleSoft software. The NAU version
of this online system is called LOUIE.
Before beginning online enrollment, you must apply
and be admitted to the university. Work with your local campus
staff or with the Distance Learning Service Center to complete this process.
When you are admitted, NAU creates a personal electronic account that gives you
the ability to conduct business online. It is called an NAU email
account . You will need to use your NAU email account to
enroll online. But first you have to set up a
password.
It is always a good idea to talk with an advisor before selecting your classes.
Advisors are trained to help you plan for success in whatever degree path you
choose at NAU. If you do not already have an advisor use our
advisor locator to find one near you or contact our
Distance Learning Service Center for assistance.
Check the calendar for deadlines
that might affect your ability to enroll online. You cannot enroll online after
the second week of the term. You can still
enroll in-person through your local campus office or by mail.
Use the Distance Learning Class Search to find
the classes you need and want . Using the class search details,
jot down the class numbers because you will have to enter them
when you enroll and be sure there are open seats in the
class(es) you select.
Now you are ready to log in to LOUIE using
your NAU email ID and password. Select Academics > Enroll in a
Class. Select the appropriate term. Add classes by typing class
numbers into the boxes in the lefthand column of the Add Classes page. Enter
the class numbers you jotted down when you did a class search. Press the TAB
key on your keyboard after entering each class number to "tab" to the next
"Class Nbr" box. Click the SUBMIT button. Verify that your "add" was successful
by checking the "Add Status" column.
To preserve your seat, plan to pay your tuition and fees when
you enroll online. Use our Tuition Calculator
to get an estimate of your tuition charges. You may also have to pay class,
program or university fees.
If you have any problems or questions about how to use the system contact the
Distance Learning Service Center at 1-800-426-8315 or (928) 523-4212.
