Enrolling Early

If you have been taking classes with NAU you are considered a continuing student. In the fall and spring terms, continuing students can start registering for classes early, in advance of open enrollment. This gives you an opportunity to sign up for classes that you need before they open to new students.

Early enrollment is based on your academic level. You'll receive notification of your early enrollment appointment by email, to your NAU email account. On this date you can begin enrolling in classes for the term using any of the enrollment methods: online, in person, or by mail. You can continue to adjust your class selections through the add and drop deadlines for the term.

Rules such as clearing holds on your account or satisfying prerequisites all apply during early enrollment, just as they do during open enrollment. If you have questions about early enrollment contact the registrar's office, your local NAU campus or the Distance Learning Service Center for help.
