Email Accounts
NAU's Information Technology Services department automatically sets up an NAU
email account for you when you are admitted to NAU. You will receive a lot of
official correspondence from NAU via this email account. For example, you
will be notified of your early enrollment appointments, of the availability of
your grades at the end of a term, of your financial aid status, and more. Take
time to review your NAU email on a regular basis.
To review your NAU email you will need your username and your password. If you
do not know your username, you can look yourself up in the
Online Directory . Your full NAU email address is your username
followed by @dana.ucc.nau.edu. For instance, if your username is swa4, then
your email address is swa4@dana.ucc.nau.edu.
Set or change your password
and your Secret Question and
Answer online. Your password will automatically expire every 42 days
for security reasons. You will be prompted when you need to choose a new
password.
As a Distance Learning student, the best way to access your email is to use
NAU WebMail. Using WebMail you can access your NAU email
account from any computer with a connection to the Internet and a web browser
installed.
To access WebMail, type webmail.nau.edu into
the Address (Internet Explorer) or Location (Netscape) area. When the page
appears, enter your username and password and click "Log In." Your email
messages will appear in a new page, and you can read, send, and reply to mail
directly from the browser. The exact look of your screen will depend on the
browser you are using and the template style you select from the Options menu.
For more help, consult the WebMail "Help" option from within WebMail
If you already have an email account and you prefer to read all your mail in one
place you can forward your NAU email account to another address. Follow the
directions at http://www.nau.edu/its/email
to create a ".forward" file in your directory, and all new mail will be
forwarded directly to the new email address.
To un-forward your mail, you will again need to visit
http://www.nau.edu/its/email and follow the instructions for removing the
forward. New mail will stay at your NAU email account.
If you have questions or need technical assistance contact the
